What color do you want to color your hair? Do you want to go a lighter shade than your natural color? On the other hand, do want to go to a darker shade? A word of advice would be if you want to go more than two shades lighter or darker, go to a salon. This would require more chemicals and in order for your hair to be the correct color, you should see a professional. When buying hair dye do not go by the color on the box. Use the swatch guides on the box, not the picture of model. One thing to remember is if the color has golden in the name, you may see red tones. Anything with Ash in the name will be more of a green in color. This does not mean your color will be red or green; it is just the tone of the color. An example would be if you do not want red highlights, then you would not pick a color with the term “Gold, or Golden” in the name. Cool tones such as fair skin and light eyes would use lighter shades. Warm tones such as olive complexion and dark eyes would use a darker shade. When dying your hair the coloring will have instructions included. One important thing to do is a color strand test. This is especially important if you have never colored your hair. This test will determine if there is any breakage. If your hair does become brittle on this test, do not continue with dying your hair! When you decide dying your hair at home is the right step for you, remember always follow the manufacturer’s directions and if you need help call the toll free number on the product. Welcome to the new you!
